Pews News: September 2017
Rob and Sharon’s Ramblings
Stay with us on this one – have you spent the summer carousing? Well now is the time to stop! However please don’t let this put you off coming to the Harvest Supper and Quiz night on 30 September at St Agnes. This year we will be having a “posh ploughmans” and there will also be a raffle. More details can be found further down in the Pews News.
September is in many ways a new beginning for us. The summer is almost over, Revd Rosie is back from leave and there is the new school year about to start. This is a good time to reflect on the way we behave towards others.
The readings from St Matthew and St Paul this month seem to be sound advice on how to life a good life. Hence the no carousing! No one should consider themselves better or more deserving than their neighbours.
When you come to the Harvest Supper and see someone just having salad, or gorging themselves on cheese, do as St Paul says in Romans and do not despise those who do not do as you do because God welcomes all in their different ways.
Whatever we do, we do in honour of God and we will all be accountable to God in our own time.
God bless
Churchwarden Rob and Parish Administrator Sharon
