The Collect
Almighty God,
you have broken the tyranny of sin
and have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts
whereby we call you Father:
give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your service,
that we and all creation may be brought
to the glorious liberty of the children of God;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Post Communion Prayer
O God, whose beauty is beyond our imagining
and whose power we cannot comprehend:
show us your glory as far as we can grasp it,
and shield us from knowing more than we can bear
until we may look upon you without fear;
through Jesus Christ our Saviour.

If you have any notices for the Pews News please let Revd Rosie have then the Thursday before the Sunday.
Coffee Corner
We hope you are beginning to enjoy the benefits of the Coffee Corner, however, coffee doesn’t make itself and cups don’t wash themselves.
It would be lovely to see some volunteers to help with this, otherwise you may find yourself on a rota!
To help keep the church mice at bay we need to clear and clean up after use, wipe down and empty the bins. Bins are provided for general waste, recycling and ‘slops’.
There is also a ‘piggy bank’ to collect coffee money, the suggestion is £1, we will then begin to raise money to cover the cost of the commodities.
This is all part of ‘living together’ at St Andrews, we don’t wish to burden the time and pockets of the same people every week. If we pay for our refreshments then we can buy more. Every little helps.
Thank you.

One Comment on “Pews News – 6 July 2014”
Greetings Rev. Rosie – We live at No.4 Clewer Court Road and we were wondering if the Churchyard tidy up could include some work on removing the ivy and other trailing plants on the top and external surfaces of the beautiful church wall bordering Clewer Court Road. It is a shame that the wall cannot be appreciated at the moment due to the rapid growth of these weeds..
Ivy is a very destructive plant and could quite rapidly grow its tendrils into and behind the flints and the brick pointing leading to premature and extensive repair work.
Unfortunately we are away next weekend otherwise we would be happy to help, armed with our hedge trimmer.
Kind regards
Gil Richardson
