Please accept our apologies, we have had to cancel the Discover Your Dead Day in May this year. This is because of a clash with Christian Aid Week, and personal commitments. Also, we cannot schedule it for later in May because of the Royal Wedding, and more personal commitments.
If you have any questions related to burials and graves, please contact the Parish Office via the contact details at the bottom of this page.
Saturday 12 May 2018 from 10:00 to 12:00
St Andrews Church will be open for ‘Discover Your Dead Day’ which will be an opportunity for genealogists, historians and interested members of the public to visit the Churchyard, inspect the registers which we have, and ask questions about the graves in the Churchyard.
This day may be of interest to those whose relatives are buried there, or those interested in the celebrities interred there. A special guide to the graves of most interest will be available on the day.
Please note that we do not have all the registers, the majority are at the Berkshire Record Office, whose website is www.berkshirerecordoffice.org.uk, and phone number is 0118 901 5132.
Our main source of information about graves is a catalogue of legible headstones compiled in the 1980’s, part of which is available on this web site HERE, where at the bottom are links to individual churchyard index sections A to D.
This is a regular event, every other month, usually on the second Saturday.
