Hello
My name is Kate & unfortunately,as much as I would like,I cannot attend “Discover your dead day”,as I don`t live in the area.
I wondered if it was possible to see if there is a headstone to two of my relatives please?James Anstiss who died on 6th January 1897 & his wife Elizabeth[nee Pym] who died on 10th January 1897.They are both buried in your churchyard, possibly their Son William may be buried with them,he died in 1906.I am hoping that someone may be able to take a digital photograph for me of their gravestone[if there is one].Quite happy to pay expenses.
Many Thanks
Kate
I will check the details and let you know if we find anything
Hi Stuart

Hi i would like to attend the Discover your dead day on July 7th please. Do i just turn up ?
I grew up in Windsor, my parents were married at your church.
I have been researching my mothers family and have been unable to read the maiden name of my 3rd great grandmother Emily Jane Payne her huband James Payne b 1832 was a Parish clerk in 1891 but i am not sure if it was your parish . They lived in Bexley street most of their lives. Also their daughter Alice ann (my 2nd grandmother) married Nixon but unsure of first name, she was widowed between 1896 and 1901 he was not living with her and her parents when married in the 1891 census. Is it possible to come and have a look at the parish records at some point too to see if they can help me. Many thanks for your time, Sue
please can you find for me mary thorn died 1889 & husband william frederick thorn whom died august 1901, far as i know they are in clewer, any further details & grave details.
I have just discovered yesterday that my family have an ancestor named Mary Ann Hull (nee Cripps) who married Charles Hull, and on the 1861 census they lived at 2 Dorset Rd Clewer Windsor.
Mary Ann Hull is buried in the southwest corner of St Andrew’s church graveyard, and I have found from google, that her headstone states she was nanny to Queen Victoria’s children. Mary’s husband, Charles Hull was private messenger, after other titles, also to Queen Victoria .
Is it possible please to find register entries for Mary’s burial, and also if Charles is there as well, and possibly a photo of the grave and headstone. Would there be a record of Mary’s parent’s names at all please?
Now I have finally proven the stories I was told 45 years ago were true.
Unfortunately I live 12,000 miles away in Sydney Australia, and would dearly love to be there in person.
Many thanks
Margaret

Pat
Will there be a “Discover Your Dead Day” in January 2013?
Yes, this Saturday Saturday 12 January 2013 from 10:00 to 12:00. Sorry, I forgot to update the site for 2013.
Hello
I am led to believe that my family history stems from Clewer; is there anything you have on this surname in your records.
When do you plan your next open day?
Thank you.
I will check for Davenport in the records and let you know by email
The next Day is 09 Mar 2013
Hi
Just wondering if you could help please, my ancestors are buried I believe in St Andrews. Their names are John Wheeler – buried on 29th July 1833 & Elizabeth Wheeler – buried on 8th October 1835. They were married on 5th September 1825 at St John The Baptist, New Windsor.
Any further information on them at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I will check and let you know by email

Hi, i hope you can help me.
As i was born in Windsor not far from St Andrews church, i have been doing
some research on my family members buried at the church. I have come
across my uncle’s grave (Ernie Frost 24/nov/1994) in the same grave was
his wife Vera but they share the grave with a Private W Colman
who died on 7/apr/1917. Would there be any link to the family as the name is not familiar to me.
I would be very grateful for any information.
Many thanks.
I have replied by email
I am research my ancestors and have failed to get back past the usual 1837 cutoff for gov held records. This is also complicated by an apparent change of spelling of family name from Brucher to Brucker to the present Brooker in 1820’s. I have two records of the marriage of my greatgrandfather, but it is just brief details. One is as follows; Joseph Brooker and Louisa Trask married 7/10/1833, Old Winsor, Berk. Indexing 10364-5 System EASy, GS Film 1279476. ref 61 the other has Index I01163-1, EASy, GS Film 1040712, ref ID it4, p 61 no 183. I was wondering if these ‘Old Windsor’ record related to your church. What I desperately want to know is the name of Joseph’s father and any other information on the certificate. I am happy to make a donation for your time.
I’ll have a look, but I believe the ‘Old Windsor’ reference would be to a Church in the Parish of Old Windsor, possibly St Peter and St Andrew – https://www.acny.org.uk/206
