† St Andrews Proclaiming Christ in Clewer 14 September 2025 Holy Cross Day The Thirteenth Sunday after Trinity |
![]() WELCOME Today is Holy Cross Day. The day we remember the cross on which Jesus died. Do you own a cross or have one hanging on the wall somewhere in your home? The cross is essentially two pieces of wood cut from a tree, two pieces of wood making a symbol with such deep meaning. The sign of the cross is made at all life faith events, from baptism to last rites, from absolution to blessing. Today we think about how we face the cross for healing and support to how following the cross reveals the truth and justice. Not then simply two pieces of wood, but a deep spiritual symbol that reinforces our relationship with God. If you wear a cross, what does it mean to you, does it reflect your faith? Blessings for your week Revd Rosie SUNDAY SERVICES 14TH SEP – HOLY CROSS DAY 13TH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY 10:30am Parish Eucharist 5.00pm Evening Prayer The readings are: Numbers 21.4-9; Philippians 2.6-11; John 3.13-17. COLLECT Almighty God, who in the passion of your blessed Son made an instrument of painful death to be for us the means of life and peace: grant us so to glory in the cross of Christ that we may gladly suffer for his sake; who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
